WL Young Artists

March 22 2023 Update - The Results of our First Kids Art Contest for Young Artists age 1-8 years old.

We received a total of 4 submissions, 3 local and 1 from Georgia, which means this has gone National!

Due to the small number of submissions, we were able to realize that kids art can’t be ranked, so all received an equal price for demonstrated talent in a category of their own. The experience gained here will of course inform us of how to run the competition next time.

Please note that we will be holding an opening reception on Saturday April 6, 3-5pm. Please come by to celebrate the works of these young artists! I will say that my 5-year old daughter’s own artistic efforts have been inspired since seeing the works of her contemporaries, so please bring the little ones out too.

Finally, thank you to your very generous judges. Our panel was made up of 4 independent visits by individuals in the field: Doug Ball - artist and former professor, Tony Vander Park - artist and furniture designer, Lydia Davis - art historian and framing consultant, and Pamela Arent, MFA - conceptual artist.

Without further ado, we are so pleased to share with you the art of our 4 submissions. Congratulations, kids!

March 4 2024 update…entry window closed last Thursday and now we are pulling together the jury members to decide placement. This year, our first year, we had 4 entries total, all from the 4-8 year old age range. We are waiting for one piece of work to be sent to us to be able to make final decisions. More updates to come soon.

Wolfgang and Luke likes to foster the expression and productivity of young artists. Starting in October 2023, we exhibited works by toddlers/small children as they move from abstract movements to the creation of people and bunnies. We are dedicating one space of the the gallery to a permanent show of Children’s Art. We keep a table set up with basic materials for children to be creative. Here in the gallery, we can create custom art classes for a group of up to 10 children, and we can create art classes for kid’s parties at your home or a local venue.
